Description

NGC 1365 is a barred spiral galaxy in the Fornax cluster about 52 Million Light Years away and a diameter of about 205 000 light-years with an Apparent magnitude of 10.3 and an apparent size of 11.2 × 6′.2 arc minutes.  It contains a central supermassive black hole in the active nucleus, which has a mass of about 2 million solar masses, rotates at close to the speed of light!

Last night's Geminid meteor shower was a bust but I have seen them before; fast and bright and hunting in packs, but the seeing was good and I had a good 3-4 hours before the moon came up and NGC 1365 was well placed so why not go back to lovely RGB.

This morning when I went to process my data I  tripped over Adam Block's YouTube Video on Russell Croman's new BlurXTerminator. In less than 5 minutes I paused the video and was on RC-Astro downloading the 30 day trial.

Another WOW! Game Changer! moment.

There have a been a few such moments in Pixinsight lately but this one is like a dream where the HST landed in your backyard!

Then you wake up and realise, no major damage to the yard, but bye bye to some major disk space for the AI library.

So many processes just go away now we have SpectroPhotometricColorCalibration, NSG, GlobalisedHyperbolicStretch and and last not not least, BlurXTerminator.

No more babbling. What comes after Game Changer ?
